Medical Research Reporting

Medical Research Grantees should follow these Interim and Final Report Guidelines:

Interim and Final Report Guidelines

The John R. Oishei Foundation is interested in the results of the grants we award. For that reason, we require every recipient organization to submit periodic grant reports. If the grant is paid in a single disbursement, a final report is due 30 days after the conclusion of the grant period. If the grant is paid in multiple installments, interim reports are required before each subsequent payment is issued.
 
Both Interim and Final reports should include the following items:
  1. A cover letter from the appropriate institutional office (usually Foundation Relations) verifying that all grant funds were expended in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement letter, along with a statement of actual income and expenditures compared to the approved budget.
  2. Interim Reports should review the specific aims of the research and what progress has been made toward achieving them, including any unexpected challenges and how they were met. Also, investigators should include any papers that were submitted and are pending or published, or that were delivered at relevant conferences. Importantly, investigators should discuss any pending, planned, or received grants from other sources that are relevant.
  3. Final Reports should include the above, as well as a discussion on how the research will be supported in the future, what new research or interdisciplinary connections were made, and decisions that were rendered on either publications or pending grants. Final budgets should also be submitted by the appropriate institutional office.
