Community Missions of the Niagara Frontier

"The increase in prices for basic food staples, fuel/utility costs and double-digit unemployment have resulted in significant increases in the number of people coming to the soup kitchen and homeless shelter.  Some of our traditional donors are now consumers of our services with a 43% increase in nights of care from 2008 to 2009 in just the first two months of 2009.

Meals served have increased by 33% to date from last year’s count of over 65,000 total meals served.  Our crisis services programs are in addition to yearly services to 175 youth at risk and over 600 mentally ill adults being served in residential, vocational, rehabilitative or preventive programs throughout the agency."
